Support it.
Recent events have given the word ‘support’ all new meaning on many levels, and it is difficult not to notice the impact is has had on us as a whole, and as individuals. The magnified importance of walking into a local shop, and seeing a smile in the eyes of a business owner, who knows just what you want before you even utter a word, now carries the weight of the world with it. It’s not just about opening our wallets, and it never was- it’s just easier to see now, that opening our hearts has far greater influence.
Sustain it.
‘Corks & Forks’ is a small, home-grown operation and as such, it is easy for us to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum! We use only one, energy-efficient vehicle to do all of our daily activities, and for traveling from our home to yours. We follow all city and county guidelines when it comes to recyclables, trash and compostables, and we make all of our own stocks and sauces, so very little of even the leftover trimmings from our fresh, locally sourced meat, fish and vegetables goes to waste!
Live it!
In communities like ours, it is especially important for each of us to connect to one another. Ontario’s identity as a whole, is perfectly described as being a true ‘sum of its parts’. The survival and flourishing of each unique township, community, and neighbourhood depends on the support of it’s unique residents, and the same is true for each and every community we serve. We are proud to say we live here…but actions speak louder than words! Both the Beaches community, and Haliburton County are very important to us, and each place represents home.
